Bonnie Ortiz

President and CEO

With 40 years of business management and leadership experience, Bonnie Ortiz formed O2 Consulting Group in September of 2017 after spending almost a decade as the Chief Operating Officer for The Partnership Federal Credit Union. A recognized expert with a proven track record in operational strategic planning, process improvement and project management and recovery, Bonnie supports clients on their journey to operational maturity and extraordinary performance.

Bonnie instills a culture of operational effectiveness in each engagement, leveraging a proven product and project manamethodology to optimize performance and build a solid foundation for growth.

Bonnie was honored in 2014 with the Credit Union Magazine Rock Star Award for her innovative approach to the remodeling of the credit union’s information technology cost center into a business technology profit center. In 2015 Bonnie’s team was honored with the Credit Union Times IT Executive of the Year Trailblazer Award and her team received the Credit Union National Association (CUNA) Lending Council Excellence in Lending Award. This award focused on the development and implementation of a lending evolution project. Bonnie also led the design and implementation of a Value in Partnership Program for which The Partnership FCU received the Louise Herring Philosophy-in-Action Member Service Award. A University of Pittsburgh graduate, Bonnie also completed both the Federal and Commercial Project Management programs at George Washington University. In her spare time, you can find Bonnie applying her passions for people, processes and projects in ways that make a difference. Bonnie currently serves as the Commodore of the Herring Bay Yacht Club and as the Vice Chairman of the Dream Queen Association, giving her time and expertise to cultivating the next generation of leaders.

Ed Lebron 

Practice Leader: Government Strategies

Ed Lebron leads the O2 Consulting Group government practice of Strategy Development Consultants.  He has over 35 years of organizational program management and leadership experience both as a naval officer and contractor.  As a naval officer for 26 years, Ed is recognized in the Department of Defense as a subject matter expert in organizational strategic and operational planning, process improvement and project management.  He has been recognized during his naval career with various commendation and achievement awards for outstanding organizational leadership and for instilling management processes within several military organizations.  As a young naval officer, he developed and implemented a training facility for Shore Intermediate Maintenance Activity, Charleston, SC with little to no budget.  He received his Total Quality Management (TQM) Facilitator Certification through Philip Crosby and Associates allowing him to implement TQM within the organization.  His efforts were instrumental in the organization being awarded the Secretary of Defense Maintenance Award.

Upon retirement from the Navy in 2012, Ed joined Gryphon Technologies as a consultant and project manager.  During his 6-year tenure, he doubled company revenue on the existing support contract, and provided process improvement methodologies that for the first time in the organization’s warfare certification process, eliminated the existing warfare certification backlog.  Ed’s keen intuition on organizational strategy, management and process improvement make him exceptionally qualified to act as trusted advisers to organizations conducting business state and federal government agencies.  

At other military commands, Ed has consistently been instrumental in providing his expertise in strategic organizational planning.  His passion for process improvement  allowed him to find efficiencies within the organizations he was assigned to whether it was during military operations on shore or at sea.  Specifically, he was key to providing the strategic operational planning and execution of the first ever Cooperation Afloat Readiness and Training (CARAT) operations between the U.S. Navy and its South East Asia partners, for Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2003 and Libya Operation Odyssey Dawn in 2011.

 

John Szeglin

Chief Technology Officer

John Szeglin leads the O2 Consulting Group Technical Team. As the Strategic Technology Consultant, John partners with executive teams to design, build and implement technology solutions. He brings over 20 years of experience in the information technology field with specialized knowledge of credit union systems and operations. Our clients benefit from his extensive technical expertise and his ability to assess, prioritize and execute technical projects resulting in secure, stable environments.

John has held multiple leadership positions within credit union organizations and in a consulting capacity. This experience allows him to provide innovative solutions which enable organizations to focus on their primary goal: providing value to their members and customers.

John has set the technical direction for credit unions ranging from $250 million to $2.7 billion in asset size.  This has entailed completing enterprise projects including: core system major upgrade and conversions, credit union mergers, digital services delivery, security and compliance, and infrastructure optimization.  By partnering with executive management, he quantifies the strategic value behind major technical decisions and how they align with the credit union’s strategic vision and operational business plan.

 

Teresa Knox

Practice Leader: Operational Effectiveness

As a Senior Associate, Teresa partners with our Strategic Consultants to support process improvement and project management initiatives. Teresa brings over 34 years of experience in the financial field with specialized knowledge in credit union operations. Our clients benefit from her extensive expertise in member services, lending, collections, business technology and back-office operations.

She began her career at Har-Co Credit Union, where she spent 30 years working in multiple positions until her promotion to Vice President of Information Technology and Operations. Throughout her tenure at Har-Co she managed staff, processes and technologies.  Teresa’s passion to improve the credit union member’s experience with best practice vendor products and services, led her to Horsetail Technologies where she supported a wide variety of credit unions as the company’s Client Advocate. Since 2015, Teresa has been working for Digital Innovation Inc, a world-wide trauma registry software company, where she continued to expand her Client Advocacy role.  There, she managed a team of 15 support personnel; technical support technicians and program support specialists. 

Kim Crawford

Practice Leader: Project Management

Kim began her career back in the day when mainframe dinosaurs roamed the earth. As an experienced Information Technology Project Manager, she provides consulting expertise in Business Process Improvement, Resource Management, System Integration, IT Management, and Business Analysis.

With over 40 years of technical, financial and IT operations experience, Kim helps companies plan and execute technology upgrades and migration projects, ensuring business objectives are being met by managing risk, minimizing down time and user impact. Before joining the O2 team, she worked for multiple Cloud Service Providers, World Wide Technology, Accubanc, PNC, and National City Mortgage.

 

Kathy Sonnenfeld

Senior Project Manager

As a Senior Project Manager, Kathy teams with colleagues and strategic partners to support all aspects of the O2 Consulting services portfolio to include operational and strategic planning initiatives, process improvement, and project management.

Kathy brings over 35 years of high performance across banking and policy research industries by utilizing proven methodologies and operational tools for successful proposal management, strategic planning, project management. Her skills and competencies include: (1) efficient and effective management of costs and tasks using PMBOK methodologies and tools; (2) design and development of engaging presentations and trainings to improve information retention and to understand the impact of meeting goals; (3) motivational meeting facilitation with active participation by all key stakeholders to ensure inclusion of diverse perspectives; (4) requirements’ development and evaluation of response for proposals (RFPs) by using risk assessment, qualitative and quantitative tools to help determine the best vendor selection; (5) evaluation and design specifications and procedures for effective data operations, processing, and retention systems.

Before joining O2 Consulting Group, LLC., Kathy worked for WesBanco Bank Inc., Old Line Bank, American Institutes for Research, and Mathematica Policy Research, where she provided strong cross-functional team leadership, contractual, and fiscal oversite on multimillion-dollar projects, managed vendors and subcontractors and wrote winning technical and business proposals. In addition, she has developed material for and conducted training and presentations to build strong client, staff, and community relations. She has also prepared onboarding agreements for banking customers and trained customers on new ACH, RDC, Wires and Online Banking tools after an acquisition and a core conversion.
